Stout
Stout is a dark, top-fermented beer brewed with roasted malt or roasted unmalted barley, which gives it a deep colour and flavours of coffee, chocolate, or dark fruit. It is one of the best-known styles of ale.
Types of stout
The main styles include dry Irish stout (low alcohol, very roasty), sweet or milk stout (brewed with lactose for a creamy body), oatmeal stout, and imperial stout (high alcohol, intense flavour). Guinness Draught, arguably the world's best-known stout, is widely served across Budapest's bars and ruin pubs.
