Drinking establishment
A drinking establishment is any licensed venue whose primary purpose is the sale and on-site consumption of beverages, particularly alcoholic drinks. The category covers pubs, bars, taverns, wine bars, nightclubs and similar premises.
Types and licensing
Drinking establishments range from traditional pubs and neighbourhood bars to wine bars, cocktail lounges and nightclubs. Each country sets its own licensing rules governing opening hours, age restrictions and what may be sold. In Hungary, bars and pubs are regulated under the hospitality licensing framework.
