Király Thermal Bath
Király Thermal Bath (Király Gyógyfürdő) is a historic thermal bath in Budapest dating from the Ottoman occupation of the city in the 16th century. It is one of the few surviving examples of Ottoman-era bath architecture in Hungary.
History and architecture
Built between 1565 and 1570 under the Ottoman governor Arslan Pasha, Király Bath is situated on the Buda bank of the Danube. Its defining feature is a large central domed hall with star-shaped skylights that filter natural light into the thermal pools below. Unlike the grand Széchenyi or Gellért baths, Király has a more intimate scale, preserving its centuries-old character. It remains a working bath open to the public.
