Erzsébetváros
Erzsébetváros (District VII) is one of Budapest's inner-city districts on the Pest side of the river. It encompasses the historic Jewish Quarter and has become internationally known as the heart of Budapest's ruin bar and nightlife culture.
The party district of Budapest
From the early 2000s, entrepreneurs transformed the district's abandoned courtyards and derelict buildings into ruin bars, starting with Szimpla Kert on Kazinczy Street. Today Erzsébetváros contains dozens of bars and clubs on streets such as Kazinczy, Király, and Dob utca, making it the centre of Budapest nightlife and the natural home of the city's pub crawls.
