Public transport

Public transport is a system of shared passenger vehicles — including buses, trams, metro trains, and trolleybuses — operated on fixed routes and schedules and open to the general public.

Getting around Budapest

Budapest has an extensive public transport network run by BKK, covering four metro lines, a suburban rail (HÉV), dozens of tram routes, and a wide bus network. Night buses replace trams and metro services after midnight. For pub crawlers, tram line 4–6 and metro line 2 are the most useful for reaching District VII.
